Album Review: Army of the Pharaoahs – The Unholy Terror

Artist(s): Army of the Pharaohs

Album: The Unholy Terror

Genre: Underground Hip-Hop, Hardcore Rap & East Coast Hip-Hop

Year: 2010

The moment I walked into Rasputin’s and saw this album was the moment I knew that the latest album from Underground Hip-Hop group “Army of the Pharaohs” was something I had to buy! Just like any other album that consists of a whole group of distinctive MC’s like Vinnie Paz, Jus Allah, Stoupe or any other Rap artists from Enemy Soil proves their same respected hazardous brand of eviscerating rhyming style with the combination of other outside affiliations such as Outerspce, Reef the Lost Cauze, Des Devious, Demoz, Doap Nixon, King Magnetic, King Syze, Apathy, Celph Titled, Esoteric, Block McCloud & Journalist really brings out the heavy-hitting rhyming mixtures that these Hardcore Rap veterans are known for. Although most professional reviews have already agreed that this album deserves 4½ stars, I for one honestly believe that it deserves a complete 5 stars! Because in my opinion, I truly feel that there are not as many Rappers that can spit lyrics as powerful and explicit nor give culturally diverse beats like a great compilation of artists such as “Army of the Pharaohs”, especially when it comes to a true MC like Vinnie Paz! I swear that every time this man spit’s a verse, I feel as if I’m somewhat listening to a verse from an Italian version of 2Pac, but in a different voice. Not to mention the fact that he holds a metal plate in his mouth which makes his voice sound even more realistic. If there’s anyone who ever gets a chance to listen to this album my song recommendations would have to be “ Agony Fires”, “Ripped to Shreads”, “Bust ‘Em In”, “Prisoner”, “Suplex”, “Contra Mantra” and “ Suicide Girl” for starters, but if you’re really a true listener of the Hip-Hop underground than I’d suggest you listen to all these songs as you observe a reputation of immense musical genius that has been proven to be one of the greatest for five years and running!
