Futurama at Oakland High
Futurama was an event for students that wanted a job, join a club and look for a career. Futurama was fun! There were so many booths, such as: REAL HARD, PASS, ARMY, POLICE, GIRL’S ROCK CAMP and much more. I talk to the army and they told me almost everything so I ask about if you die do they pay your family? They said they do give them a lot I don’t remember the exactly amount but it was a lot. They also told me that they pay for college they train you and you only go one day or two a week to get training. They also pay you will they are training you. They told me that now they are cleaning the oil spill and they do other stuff. I ask how old you have to be to join. They told me 17 and older. I also I ask for this thing there were giving like a nickles to put your keys on and they make me do 5 push up. I was so amaze. I did do them I was happy cues I have done only one push up this was my first time doing more than one. Then I went to this other booth. It was an after school program and a camp and they teach girls how to play instrument. They teach you how to play the guitar, drums, keyboard, bass, turntable/DJ and they also teach vocals. You can pay or you can ask for financial. I ask how old you have to be to join. You have to be 14-18. When you 18 you can go back and volunteer. in conclusion this was a good event for Oakland high students i found out a lot of event that i could do in the summer and whats ahead of me like colleges and careers.
