Immigrants are the future
The new immigration law in Arizona is unfair. If the police see you and you look suspicious, or they think you don’t belong here they can arrest you. Everyone needs to have proof of citizenship with them because if you tell them that you live here they’re not going to believe you, and you may end up in jail. I’m pretty mad at the new immigration law, I’m more mad that president Obama signed it. Obama said that he was going to pass an immigration reform, but he hasn’t done anything about it. I asked some of my peers what they thought about the new immigration law in Arizona.
“It’s messed up, you can’t judge a person by their skin color and how they look. There are parents that come here for a better life and they work hard to stay here.” – Gerardo
“I think it’s stupid.” – Loan Ly
“It’s not right for Latino people and other people, and they should give them another chance.” -Ashanti Thompson
“It’s racist, it’s unfair for Latino people.” – Anonymous
Immigrants are the future, we do all the dirty work that other people don’t want to do. I hate that they created this law. It’s unfair for a lot of people that been here in the United States for a long time. It’s unfair for many Mexicans that were born here because of the way they look. Many people don’t carry their papers with them because it might get stolen. I think with the new law we are going to have more crime in Arizona. I hope they don’t put this law in California.
Many immigrants come to the U.S because they want a better future for their family, and they want to make more money. They want their children to have the best education. I know my parents came here thinking of me and my sister, because they want the best for us, and they work hard to give us everything. Our parents want us to finish high school and go to college. They want us to fulfill our own dreams.
America is supposed to be about freedom, and a place where everyone from all backgrounds can succeed. The immigration law in Arizona is the opposite of this, and I hope that things get better before more families are taken away from their dreams.

I like how strongly you feel about this.
i agree!! your taking away our pride!! when all the mexicans are gone, whos going to be there to do all the work thats’ left over? were the ones who pick your fruit! i’ve worked in the field before. and it’s not a happy job. i would prefer to be somewhere else. but you know what? we need the money, and we”ll do whatever we have to, to live a life here. have you ever thought about who cleans the streets, and who cuts the grass? well most of those people are mexican! im not saying that all mexicans do these kinds of jobs. but a majority of them do! and i think that the mexican “celebrity” people wont be asked to show their papers. ex: i doubt it they’ll ask a mexican talk host for their papers. but they will ask a regular person!
this law is unfair! and should be stopped! i am ashamed of president obama!
oh yea. i forgot to say: nice picture!
like aileen said, mexicans do what they can to get money and help their families…..some people think that we take all their jobs; and when i say people i mainly mean white people cause they live up in the hills imagine they probably have servants and dont do none of the work themselves, they want jobs but theyre afraid to get dirty they have others fix and clean their house for them, they say we take their jobs well guess wat, they dont look for none their white jus cause theyre born here they have more rights to a job, thats unfair everyone deserves a job n if a white person comes n starts to discriminate well they deserve whatever harm comes to them cause they people jus like us. we aint animals we are ALL people u discriminate against a person you discriminate against yourself cause we all people n if they think that they can go up to people their wrong. how many mexicans, african americans, and asians are in the house of representatives not that many, they probably voted for it cause they mainly whites thats the problem the is no justice in this land of the “free”. We aint free, we more like prisoners in a huge land filled with rules and a justice system that sometimes over uses its powers.
