Gerardo Jauregui is 16 years of age, an East Oakland youngstah living day by day always checking himself before he leaves his house. The media portray’s his neighborhood as trashy, disturbing, rough, and a savage environment, but it has also given him the opportunity to become bold, independent, and an undaunted individual.  Gerardo’s interests include exploring Astronomy and the mystical world of wizards in the Harry Potter Series. In the future he plans on learning the beautiful Vietnamese language.  Gerardo is currently a contributing writer for FRESH the Magazine (www.freshthemagazine.com), and a part of the Streetside Productions team at the East Bay Asian Youth Center (www.ebayc.org).
